Franchising in the Time of COVID-19

At Blo, we believe that life is a celebration and every customer is our Guest of Honor. Our blow outs and beauty services uplift and enhance the lives of those in our Blo community, and nothing makes us happier.

That’s why the temporary closure of all our locations due to the COVID-19 crisis has been challenging. For now, our Franchise Partners and their staff have had to stop doing the work they love and delivering the services that delight our guests.

In the face of these challenges, our corporate team pivoted quickly to provide our Franchise Partners with the resources and support they needed to navigate these uncharted waters. We provided them with coaching and tools to help them reduce expenses, engage with staff, build relationships with guests and generate sales while closed. To lessen their financial burden, we reduced some fees and waived others. We know that few franchise systems have been able to make financial concessions and we are grateful to be able to provide this support to our Franchise Partners.

We are proud of our collaborative, compassionate Franchise Partner community and what our system has accomplished in the face of this crisis. It has been deeply gratifying to hear their expressions of appreciation for the support from the Corporate team. In the words of one of our Franchise Partners:

“I can’t tell you how supported I feel by this franchise. When we are finally all able to re-open, I will head back into my Blo with my sleeves rolled up and full of love for this company and team. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

We can’t wait to re-open our doors and get back to the business we love. In the meantime, many of our Franchise Partners are offering curbside pick-up or home deliveries of the beautiful products available in-bar. They are selling “Mini Tab” packages so that guests can take advantage of discounted services when doors are open. We have launched a campaign where, for every gift card sold at participating locations, a blow out will be donated to a frontline health care worker as a show of our thanks for their work. Our guests have embraced these offerings and our Franchise Partners are grateful for the support they’ve received from their communities.

We know it won’t be long before we can welcome our teams back into our Blo locations and “roll out the pink carpet” for our guests. We are excited for what the future holds for our Blo community and are eager to pick up on the strategic initiatives we have planned (including increased focus on our Mane Squeeze membership program, a valuable source of recurring revenue).
